African Food Network has been promoting and showcasing the rich African culture through local foods in Nigeria and around Africa since 2017. Of over 5000 unique cuisines cooked on this rich black continent, the world has yet to witness enough of all these incredible recipes and cooking methodologies that trace us back to our origins and connect our bodies with mother nature. The African Food Network is a magnificent hub for different food recipes from Africa’s numerous tribes and nations. Recipes are sourced from many authors throughout the world, and there is even a feature where one can submit a dish to be published on the platform.

Local food festivals are an important addition to modern trends that will help keep original African food and cooking styles alive, especially given the West’s influence on the African food culture. This culinary festival brings together foodies, vendors, chefs, and a range of delicious dishes from across Africa, all while having a good time in each other’s company.

After a successful debut in Abuja Nigeria last year, African Food Festival announces Accra, Ghana as next destination for their festival. There was atmosphere of entertainment and party at the debut festival as it truly showcased the style and culture of African food. Featuring chef battle and cookouts, eating competition, food trivia, influencers challenge, lots of freebies, along with tastings, demonstrations, and mini-cooking lessons, bites, and sips from a dynamic selection of Abuja’s up and coming vendors. Menus from Nigeria to Cape Town, and Accra, Senegal to Addis Ababa were on display. The food stalls, provided for all, vegetarians were not left out, as there was more than enough for them. The menus ranged from Acheke, Fufu, Jollof rice, Moin-Moin, Koki Beans, Eba, Akara, Akple, Kelewele, Tuo Zaafi to mention a few. The East African kitchen presented the gathering with Pilau, Chapati, Mukimo, Ugali, Nyama Choma and Matoke which is very popular in Uganda

Along with tastings, demonstrations, and mini-cooking lessons, bites, and sips from a dynamic selection of Ghana’s up and coming vendors, you’ll find pop ups from African celebrity chefs, aspiring chefs, and hobbyist cooks, and more, plus DJ’s, musicians, and artists to make sure the festivities go long into the night. The event promises to be packed with culture, diversity, flavorful tastes, entertainment and just the simplicity of jubilant vibes our continent must share.

Hosted by African Food Network, the largest community of African Food lovers on the internet, this event which aimed to celebrate African culture through food. “For years, we at African Food Network have been passionate about promoting African food and culture, the African Food Festival stands for everything that enriches our lives and makes them worth living, moments with wonderful people, good food and music for the soul’ Ifeanyi Onyeka, Co-founder of African Food Network says.

With the next edition of the festival in Nigeria in hindsight, though yet to be announced; we’re expecting a another one in any of the major cities this year after the Accra, Ghana invasion by the African Food & Drinks Festival

Through this initiative the festival offers an international platform representing numerous regions which span from South, North, East and West Africa, with the final aim to represent an authentic African food culture.
