See how I cook smoked herring and ground provision. You will need two pots. One will be used to boil some salt out of the smoked herring. The time-consuming part is to remove the many small herring bones. I especially love the herring with the eggs. Yummy yummy!!

The other pot will be used to cook the ground provision (a Caribbean term); green bananas or green fig, bluggoe, sweet potato, plantain, cassava, yams and dasheen. This pot is usually a combination of any of the above based on people’s preferences and availability. I must always have plantain.
