Preserving the mangroves of Bonaire with the support of BEST2.0+ funding. The Mangrove Maniacs is an 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 organization of volunteers and professionals working hard to preserve and to restore mangroves on Bonaire, and beyond.
Over the last 9 years finding money has always been a huge challenge. The BEST2.0+ by the EU provided us with solid funding that gave us the opportunity to make excellent results, like digging hundreds of meters of channels and planting over 3.000 mangrove trees on the south west coast. Last week this programme ended and to celebrate the last 2 years it rean, this beautiful video was made by Lorenzo Mittiga. We keep on working to find sustainable long term funding.
