Let’s make a Puerto Rican budín! This dessert classic is ultra moist, dense, sticky, sweet, and just plain delicious. My recipe tastes like Christmas in Puerto Rico! 🥺 Enjoy!

Ingredients:

• 1lb French bread (pan criollo, sobao, brioche, or thick artisan bread work well too! Make sure it’s 1lb)
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
• 3/4 tsp ground cloves
• 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 6 tbsp melted butter (half a stick)
• 3 eggs, lightly beaten
• 1 can coconut milk
• 1 can evaporate milk (you may substitute with another can of coconut milk!)
• 1/3 cup dairy milk
• 1/2 cup dried mixed berries or cranberries

Caramel (optional):

• 1 cup white sugar
• 1/3 cup water

Boil over medium/high heat for 20 min, or until it becomes a nice auburn color.

NOTE: If you choose not to make caramel, be sure to grease your mold with lots of butter.
